Prime time

I've got my bits back from the shot blasters and got a few coats on zinc primer on. The forks are spot on fortunately and the dram is much the way I expected to be, however I'm now in the market for a new swing arm as you can plainly see in the pics

More fun.....

Well this morning has been interesting. Popped down to Denton auto after spending a couple of hours sanding and flatting the frame to get it ready for priming. "Great!" I think to myself as I leave the house "I'll just get Ant to have a quick look and make sure I'm ready to paint it, then I'll give a quick blast with the air line and get some tack cloths then we're off". Of course that would have been too easy. Ant spots a small crack on the down tube and gets his file out to discover it's been filled in at some point. So despite the fact I thought all was going well I'm back to square one. Time to stop messing about and get it shot blasted..... Oh what fun!!!!

Tonight's effort

Had a little time to kill today as I finished early, so I took the time to sanded down the filler and get a couple of coats of primer underneath the wheel arch.

A little Sunday tinker

Spent a few hours in the garage today and got the welds ground down. The surface rust treated and the first bit of filler aplied. Not a huge amount of progress bit never the less it is progress.

It's been a while!

I
It's been far too long since anything has gone on with joe but I've finally got the frame done! In the end I managed to scrounge an end piece off my mate Steve (cheers dude) and my other mate Neil B (cheers dude) did all of the welding for me at work. Sorry there are no during pictures but obviously I wasn't there to take any. Anyway just need to tidy the welds up now and the frame resto is done. Exciting times ahead!!
